18 Dec Merry Christmas
As Christmas Day draws closer I’ve noticed that my anxiety levels are growing. There are so many things to do. Christmas shopping to finish, food to prepare, parties to attend. This on top of crazy retail hours since Thanksgiving make me feel like I’m running from one thing to another so quickly that I’m not taking time to be present in the moments. IMPORTANT moments. The things that bring the most joy in this season. So today I baked cookies with my daughter and grandsons. We made an enormous mess. Frosting and sprinkles covered every surface in my kitchen and it didn’t matter. I didn’t think of the things that I should be doing. I didn’t worry that things weren’t getting done. I didn’t worry about the sticky mess we made. I just had fun. I was present in the moment and kept thinking, I hope they remember. I hope those little boys and their momma remember that grandma didn’t care about the mess but that she made silly faces and laughed a lot. That messes can be cleaned up but it sure is fun to make them.
In this season, when we celebrate Jesus’ birth, my wish for all of you is that you can be present in the moments. There are so many special times that we rush through so we can hurry on to the next thing. Slow down. Take a deep breath and enjoy all the special times you spend with your families and friends. Make some memories that you will remember.
Merry Christmas from all of us at The Found Cottage. We are so grateful for each and every one of you. You have given us so many special moments to remember in the past two years. Thank you
